It all started with the topic of my dissertation, with which I entered graduate school in 2023. I came up with the idea of researching anti-Jewish pogroms in Ukraine in 1917-1921. Then I began to come across fantastically interesting documents from the history of Kyiv Jews of that period - the Jews of my hometown.

 

An unexpectedly won research grant particularly drew my attention to the issues of the situation of Kyiv Jewry. As a result of the work, significant developments emerged, the scale of which I had not even imagined when I started the project. The topic of the dissertation also had to be clarified.

 

Just like creating this resource, I wanted to share the data I found. Including in memory of those who innocently suffered in the cold autumn days and nights of 1919...
